Tarrazú seduces us with its nutty, creamy flavour, reminiscent of nutmeg and mandarin. With its subtle sweetness and wintery warmth, it is the perfect companion for the cold season. This coffee also tells a wonderful story about its origins.
Bean Voyage
Since the beginning of 2024, we have been supporting six new coffee projects worldwide with the Coffee Circle Foundation. These include a project in Costa Rica in collaboration with the non-profit organisation Bean Voyage, whose multi-stage programme provides coffee farmers with training, financial support, mentoring and contacts with potential buyers. Tips for preparation
Tarrazú is suitable for all filter coffee preparation methods. We recommend the coffee for preparation with a hand filter, the Chemex or the classic filter coffee machine, such as the Moccamaster.
Medium Roast
Our Tarrazú is freshly roasted every week in our Berlin roastery. Our master roasters pay close attention to the right moment to bring out the full sweetness and flavour of the coffee. The roasting profile is specially tailored to each type of coffee.
Origin
The coffee comes from the Tarrazú region in Costa Rica, the home of farmer Seilyn Jimenez. Together with the coffee from farmer Rosa Aura Navarro, this creates a particularly aromatic and complex blend.
We got to know both farmers through the non-profit organisation Bean Voyage, which supports women in coffee cultivation. Through our Foundation, we support Bean Voyage in fulfilling its motto: ‘Women Powered Coffee’. Bean Voyage’s multi-stage programme offers female farmers training, access to financial resources, mentoring and contacts with potential buyers.
As soon as the coffee cherries are ripe, they are picked by hand. After being sorted in a water bath, the cherries are left to dry in the sun on raised drying beds for around three weeks. They are turned regularly so that they dry evenly. This naturally processed coffee is perfect for anyone who loves fruity and complex filter coffee with interesting flavours.
