SMOOTH COFFEE WITH FRUITY ACIDITY

Nansebo is a sweet and fruity coffee that impresses with its intense and complex aromas. The fruity notes are reminiscent of ripe berries such as raspberries and strawberries. The coffee is accompanied by a very elegant floral character and fruity notes reminiscent of oranges. Nansebo coffee is roasted to a medium strength, so that it tastes very balanced and surprisingly clear for a natural coffee.

Tips for preparation

Nansebo natural coffee is suitable for all types of filter coffee preparation. We recommend the coffee for preparation with the hand filter, the Chemex or the classic filter coffee machine, such as the Moccamaster.

Light to medium roast

We roast the Nansebo natural fresh and particularly gently every week in our roastery in Berlin. Our master roasters pay close attention to the moment at which the sweetness and aroma of the coffee unfold optimally. The roasting profile is put together individually depending on the characteristics of the coffee.

Hannes in der Rösterei

Origin

Nansebo is a community in the West Arsi Zone, located in Sidamo, in the south of Ethiopia. The region has been famous for excellent Ethiopian coffees for decades. Nansebo produced fantastic coffees, especially in the last harvest, and particularly impressed us with the coffee selection after the harvest in Ethiopia.

The farm is a partner farm of our friend Heleanna and her team Moplaco. The team from the Nansebo Washing Station attaches great importance to careful processing of the cherries. The washing station is located at 2,200 meters above sea level and the cherries here only ripen late during the harvest season. As a result, the cherries are very sweet and offer optimal conditions for exceptional coffees.

After picking, the ripe coffee cherries are separated from unripe cherries by floating them in a water bath and then dried whole on raised drying beds in the sun for around three weeks. During this time, they are regularly turned by hand to ensure even drying and defective cherries are sorted out. The „naturally processed“ coffees are ideal for fans of filter coffees with a fruity and complex taste and exciting aromas.
